The panel encouraged gyms to review routes before opening, assess fall zones, wall height, finishing holds, and down-climbing options, and consider grade-specific height limits for easier problems. These controls are especially important for beginners, who are overrepresented in claims.<br /><br />The webinar also discussed unstaffed facilities, noting that they need extra care, clear member agreements, and specific rules for after-hours access. The session closed by promoting CWA’s video orientations, route-setting programs, and climbing wall instructor certifications as tools to support safer bouldering operations.
